  •          Phlebotomist, Counties Manukau District Middlemore Hospital, Permanent Part time 0.8FTE – Full Time Hours 
  •          We are looking for the right person to join our team, so if you are flexible, organised, a team player and likes working                with people from diverse backgrounds, this is the role for you.
  •          The position will be 4 days per week rostered shift work. Flexibility with working hours is required, able to participate in          weekend roster and some call-back. The successful applicant will work both Middlemore Hospital and Manukau            Health Park.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Medical Sciences Council registered Phlebotomist (QPT/QMLT) to join our team at Counties Manukau District Health. Experience in blood collection for all age groups and previous experience in Intravenous Cannulation is desirable.

If you have an excellent interpersonal and organisation skill and likes working in a hospital environment, then this opportunity could be for you. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of 45 Phlebotomists provides Phlebotomy and IV Cannulation Support Service to 44 wards across Middlemore Hospital, 1 Middlemore Collection Room Service and 1 Manukau Health Park Collection Room Service.

About you

As a Qualified Phlebotomist:  

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Registered QPT/QMLT or able to obtain registration from the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the Privacy Act
  • Able to collect blood samples from adults, children and neonates
  • Able to perform IV Cannulation as an extended scope of practice
