About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Infection, Prevention and Control practitioner to lead, support and develop the team and grow the service within CM Health as Operations Manager. Reporting to the Service Manager Laboratory Services, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention initiatives and related quality improvement programmes across the organisation.
Taking the lead on specific improvement programmes agreed with the Service Manager, Laboratory Services and Clinical Director, Infection Services. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday and based at Middlemore Hospital.
Key responsibilities;
- Successfully lead and support the infection prevention and control team
- Ensure the team has the necessary skill and experience to meet service delivery needs
- Ensure key deliverables of the service are met.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on the key outcomes of programmes and successful lead the team to achieve agreed goals
- Ensure baseline and outcome data is collected and managed to allow analysis of efficiencies, cost/benefits and value ed
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Disability Services Standards for New Zealand with regards to Infection Prevention & Control.

To succeed in this role, you will be a health professional with either a relevant post graduate qualification or a relevant tertiary qualification and have a minimum of five years’ experience in infection prevention and control or a relevant scientific speciality, including relevant experience of the clinical service environment. Although not essential, it would be preferable to have a background in leadership and/or operational management.
