Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

We are part of Health New (HNZ)- Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. 

 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Service Manager-Operating Theatres and CSSD the role of the Nurse Manager is to provide professional management and clinical and nursing leadership in the Manukau Health Park Operating Theatres.

The role will ensure effective day to day co-ordination and management of the Operating Theatres working collaboratively with the consultants, management, clinical leaders and the Clinical Nurse Director (CND). The Nurse Manager is also responsible for promoting excellence in clinical practice and ensuring the provision of high quality nursing care for patients in line with the vision and values of Counties Manukau Health (CMH).

 

Essential Requirements include:

  • A minimum of five years recent and relevant clinical experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Relevant post graduate study completed or underway
  • Knowledge of current issues within nursing and in their specialty area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medico/legal and ethical responsibilities.
  • Evidence of Quality improvement initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
