About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Midwife Manager to lead our dedicated team at the Pukekohe Primary Birthing Facility, providing exceptional care for women, birthing people, newborns and their whaanau.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a senior midwife who is committed to clinical excellence, service innovation, workforce development, and achieving equitable outcomes for all communities we serve.

As Midwife Manager, you will provide operational, clinical, and professional leadership for the primary birthing facility, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate and culturally responsive maternity services. You will oversee the day to day management of the facility, lead a team of approximately 15 FTE midwives and nurses, and work collaboratively with Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs), multidisciplinary teams, and community partners to deliver outstanding maternity care.

You will:

  • Lead the daily operations and long-term strategy for the unit
  • Provide visible leadership and professional guidance to midwifery staff
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and capability development
  • Ensure compliance with clinical quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Manage financial performance including budget planning and resource management

About You:

  • NZ Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • 5+ years experience in secondary/tertiary maternity care.
  • Proven leadership and/or management experience - ability to lead and coordinate a team.
  • Relevant Post graduate qualification preferred
