About the Role

The redevelopment of Manukau Health Park is well underway, and with it comes an exciting opportunity to join one of South Auckland’s largest outpatient clinics as part of our Security Team.

Our team provides 24/7 protection across Counties Manukau District, focusing on Middlemore Hospital, Manukau Health Park, and other key sites. Your role will involve:

  • Conducting regular patrols across multiple sites
  • Delivering excellent customer service to staff, patients, and visitors
  • Providing safe escorts
  • Responding promptly to security incidents
  • Investigating and reporting incidents in coordination with the Security Coordinator
  • Ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors at Manukau Health Park.

This is full-time roles with rostered shifts across a 24/7 schedule (Monday to Sunday), based at Manukau Health Park.

There is 2x permanent night shift roles that work a rostered 4-week pattern. You will be required to work 12 hour shifts. The roster includes a total of 6x 12hr shifts and 1x 8hr shift throughout a 14 day period.

There is 1x day shift role with a 2-week pattern working 12hrs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday then the second week being 12hrs Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and an 8-hour shift on Thursday. There will be flexibility required for this role.

About You

Due to the nature of the work, you will need to prove that they are a team player and can combine a security mind set with exceptional customer service and people skills.

The ideal candidate will need to have;

  • Minimum 1 year of security experience (healthcare setting preferred)
  • Ability to obtain Level 2 and Level 3 National Certificate or appropriate qualifications
  • Ability to operate modern security technology, i.e. cameras, radios pagers, electronic locking apparatus and basic computer systems
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Word)
  • Ability to write clear and concise incident reports, make written statements and keep registers and records
  • A good degree of physical fitness is required due to the nature of the role
  • Must be available to work on call basis, rostered shift Monday to Sunday over 24 hours, 7 days a week.
  • Having exceptional customer service to deal with our people.
