CSSD Supervisor, Surgical and Ambulatory
- Role is located in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) at Counties Manukau Health, Norther Region of Health New Zealand. This role is a permanent fulltime position.

About the Role
As a CSSD Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the operation of CSSD through supporting CSSD staff to achieve high quality outcomes which in turn supports our internal and external customers. The CSSD Supervisors is accountable for overseeing the workflow processes in the unit.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of 58 staff members are employed to work at both Middlemore Hospital (MMH) and Manukau Health Park (MHP). CSSD operates 24/7 at MMH and at MHP the unit is open from 0700 hrs through to 2300hrs. We reprocess reusable medical device or RMDs used in all operating theatres, clinics, modules and various other patient areas within the organisation. You will be a part of a strong team of individuals who will assist you and support you in your role as a CSSD Supervisor.
About you
As a CSSD Supervisor your strengths include being organised and able to communicate with individuals and groups of staff. To be able to problem solve but also know when to seek assistance and support from other senior members of the team.
Assisting CSSD in compliance with the standard AS 5369: 2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health facilities is a mandatory requirement.
- Have at least five years’ experience working in a sterilising unit
- Minimum of Level 4 sterilising qualification and open to completing the Level 5 Diploma in Sterilising Technology if not already achieved
- Be a member of the New Zealand Sterile Sciences Association (NZSSA)
- Have attained and be prepared to maintain NZSSA Registration every three years
- Be prepared to work shifts if and when required
- Be prepared to support CMH CSSD Departments on both Manukau Health Park and Middlemore Hospital Sites
