This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Physiotherapist to work within the Pukekohe Hospital in-patient Service, joining our friendly team. This Rehabilitation role provides the opportunity to work alongside GP’s, Geriatrician, nurses, Pharmacists and Allied Health professional groups. 

The preferred candidate would be passionate and committed to providing patient focused care in a supportive and innovative in-patient hospital environment. The ability to work as an effective team member and demonstrate strong communication skills is essential to this position. The Physiotherapist will assess and treat patients who are over 65yrs of age presenting with Strokes, Amputations, Orthopaedic and General post - Surgical / Medical conditions.

You will have preceptorship via the Senior Physio clinician and peer support from our existing team of Physiotherapists. There will be ongoing opportunities for professional development and links with the Middlemore Hospital Site. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient- and whaanau-centred physiotherapy services within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work across community and clinical settings to assess, plan, and implement evidence-informed care.
  • Collaborate with patients and whaanau to set meaningful goals and promote self-management.
  • Contribute to clinical education, professional development, and quality improvement.
  • Support equitable care delivery, with a focus on improving health outcomes for underserved populations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified and registered Physiotherapist with a current APC (Annual Practicing Certificate).
  • Strong clinical reasoning, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • A team player with a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
  • A passion for patient and whaanau-centred care, equity, and cultural safety.
  • A full driver’s licence.
