Are you a passionate and skilled physiotherapist looking to make a difference in acute healthcare? Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau is seeking a motivated Core Clinician Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Acute Allied Health team.

We have an exciting opportunity for Physiotherapist to join our team within our medical services. This opportunity would allow you to work with and co-ordinate a speciality ward such as Cardiology, Renal, Haematology, Medical Assessment Unit (As part of the Emergency Department) or General Medicine. 

About the Role:

As a Core Clinician Physiotherapist working in the acute medical wards you’ll play a vital role in delivering patient- and whaanau-centred care. You’ll assess, plan, and deliver evidence-informed physiotherapy interventions in a fast-paced hospital environment while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a clinical caseload with autonomy and support
  • Contribute to assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of patients in acute medical settings
  • Engage in discharge planning and transitions of care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, whaanau, and the broader healthcare team
  • Support and mentor less experienced staff and students
  • Participate in weekend and on-call rosters as required

About You:

  • A New Zealand-registered physiotherapist with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • A strong communicator and team player with excellent time management
  • Clinically confident with experience (or strong interest) in acute care
  • Culturally responsive, with a commitment to health equity and patient-centred care
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and passionate about continuous learning
  • Hold a full drivers licence
