The Opportunity:
The Community Stroke Rehabilitation (CSR) team at Middlemore Hospital is seeking a core occupational therapist with an interest in stroke rehabilitation to join their team! If you thrive on variety, enjoy new challenges, and want to work in a multi-cultural setting as part of an interdisciplinary team, this is the role for you. CSR provides stroke-specific rehabilitation in clients' homes, focusing on community reintegration and promoting self-management. As a member of the CSR service, you will play a key role in the interdisciplinary team, utilising your expertise to conduct occupational assessments and interventions centered on meaningful occupations for adult clients requiring rehabilitation.
You will receive professional support from a section head and senior occupational therapists, along with a collaborative team of physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, nurses, dietitians, and doctors. Counties Manukau is committed to the ongoing education and development of all employees, offering regular supervision and in-service opportunities.
Essential:
- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 1-year Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Full, current NZ driver's licence
Desired:
- Experience working in rehabilitation
- Accessable accreditation in equipment
