About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Te Rawhiti Community Mental Health Service, based in Highland Park in East Auckland.
Te Rawhiti provides specialist community mental health services to people living across the surrounding East Auckland communities including Howick, Pakuranga, and nearby suburbs. The service supports a culturally diverse and rapidly growing population and plays an important role in delivering community-based mental health care.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team and work in partnership with the Service Manager and Team Manager within a clinical–managerial leadership model. You will contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing growth of the team while supporting high-quality clinical care for service users.

About the Team/Service/ Location
As a Consultant Psychiatrist working with us you play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team leading and clinically managing the clinical functions in the team. You would work alongside the Service Manager and Team Manager in a clinical/ managerial partnership model, actively contributing to quality improvement, service delivery and the ongoing development of the team
Te Rawhiti is a well-established community mental health service that works closely with primary care providers, NGOs, and specialist services across the Counties Manukau system.
Our teams have access to several community-based acute care options, including a peer-led acute recovery service. Strong partnerships with local non-government organisations are a key strength of the service, with one of these collaborations recently receiving a regional innovation award.
You will work alongside experienced psychiatrists, nurses, allied health professionals, cultural advisors, and peer support workers in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About you
As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will need:
- Vocational registration with MCNZ as a Psychiatrist in General Psychiatry of a subspecialty
- Current annual practising certificate
- A full Acceptable Driver’s License with no limitations
- Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
- **Preferred a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry
