About the Role

Mental Health Services at Te Whatu Ora – Counties Manukau is well known for providing innovative services to our diverse population - including New Zealand's largest concentration of Maaori and Pacific Island peoples. We have excellent opportunities available to utilise your specialist skills and further develop your clinical expertise.

We are looking for additional Consultant Psychiatrists to join us as a Consultant Psychiatrist - Matariki. The service is providing services to the immediate surrounding population in Otara, Otahuhu and Mangere.

About the Team/Service/ Location

As a Consultant Psychiatrist working with us you play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team leading and clinically managing the clinical functions in the team. You would work alongside the Service Manager and Team Manager in a clinical/ managerial partnership model, actively contributing to quality improvement, service delivery and the ongoing development of the team

Our community mental health centres have access to several community acute options including a peer led acute recovery service. Working in a partnership model with local non-government organisations is well established and recently one of our partnerships was recognised with an innovation award.

About you

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will need:

  • Vocational registration with MCNZ as a Psychiatrist in General Psychiatry of a subspecialty
  • Current annual practising certificate
  • A full Acceptable Drivers License with no limitations
  • Current Medical Indemnity INsure
  • **Preferred a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry
