  • Consultant Psychiatrist – for our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services CAMHS teams in the South Auckland communities including Otahuhu, Mangere, Otara, Pukekohe, Papakura, Manurewa and also across the East Auckland region.
  • Permanent Fulltime role
  • Salary Range dependant on experience: $185,380 - $267,980 (ASMS SECA)

About the role:

This would be a great role for those who have a passion in making a difference in the lives of our Rangatahi (adolescent and teenagers)

You will be working with young people in a major centre with easy access to awe-inspiring scenery and experience outdoor adventures like tramping in Duders Regional Park, swimming in the beautiful Eastern beaches Maraetai, Omana, and the Regional Parks of Tawhitokino and Awhitu and driving blissfully along Karioitahi beach. Just to name a few.

About the Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will be making a difference in the life of Adolescents with serious mental health and addictions. Not only with you be providing clinically and culturally responsive specialist mental health care for Rangatahi (adolescents) you will also provide clinical consultation for your colleagues in your team.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our integrated locality-based child and adolescent services in the Counties Manukau Health area, provide clinically and culturally responsive specialist mental health care for Tamariki and Rangatahi with serious mental health and addiction problems.

About you

You will be able to provide consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns.

  • You will be able to provide clinical oversight and best practice assessment and treatment to tamariki (children) and Rangatahi (youth).
  • You will be able to work in culturally rich communities of South Auckland including Otahuhu, Mangere, Otara, Pukekohe, Papakura, Manurewa and also across the East Auckland region. 
  • We welcome applications from overseas candidates.
  • You will work mainly from our different bases at Otahuhu, and or Springs Rd East Tamaki and have the opportunity to work from other clinics as well
  • You will be also providing clinical consultant liaison to health professionals in primary care practices and schools.

Essential:

Eligible to register or registered in a Vocational scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand (eligibility for registration can be checked via this link https://www.mcnz.org.nz/get-registered/registration-self-assessment-tool/ )
Current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZMC
