Consultant Geriatrician, Adult Rehabilitation & Health of Older People
- Middlemore Hospital, Geriatrician: permanent part time and fixed term part time
- Remunerations per ASMS SECA $185,380 - $267,980
- You will be working in a vibrant and dynamic department made up of committed health professionals who are completely engaged in the process of delivering quality care to elderly from a multicultural diverse population group. Our department has a unique Orthogeriatric team with bone density services as part of the service, providing the opportunity for learning osteoporosis management and bone density measurement related skills. We also have very comprehensive community geriatrics team and memory team.

About the Role
As a Geriatrician, you will be responsible for an inpatient team admitted for assessment and rehabilitation. The role involves working with & leading a multidisciplinary team as you will be responsible for managing junior medical staff. Conducting a bi- weekly ward round, you will also be involved in multi-disciplinary meetings, family meetings and certain community-based work. It is essential that you have experience working with elderly patients having multiple comorbidities. There is also a possibility of doing clinics and providing leave cover.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The wider HOP team consists of a large group of diverse, multi-disciplinary staff, primarily located on site at the main Middlemore Hospital campus, alongside our community teams, creating opportunities to work across the acute, outpatient and community settings.

About you
As a Geriatrician you will have:
· Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council or
· Be eligible for registration in this scope
· Hold a current annual practicing certificate
