About the Role:

Lead the future of child health research in Aotearoa!

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Research Coordinator to lead the Kidz First Research nursing team and play a pivotal role in delivering world-class paediatric research that makes a difference for tamariki and whaanau across South Auckland and beyond.

As the Clinical Research Coordinator, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all Kidz First Research studies, working closely with research leaders, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams. You’ll ensure high-quality, culturally safe, and ethically sound clinical research that meets international standards and delivers meaningful outcomes for our communities.

As a senior nurse leader, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the Kidz First Research nursing team and associated clinical trials.
  • Support the scoping, development, and implementation of both pharmaceutical and investigator-initiated research.
  • Liaise with key research partners including Middlemore Hospital Research Office, Aotearoa Clinical Trials, and universities.
  • Oversee recruitment, consent, participant management, and reporting processes in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Provide mentorship, education, and performance development for research nursing staff.
  • Represent Kidz First in local and international collaborations and maintain strong sponsor and stakeholder relationships.
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice, compliance, and patient safety across all research activities.

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • 5+ years post registration paediatric nursing experience in NZ.
  • Previous experience in clinical research/leading to publication
  • Proven leadership experience - ability to lead and coordinate a team.
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Current Good Clinical Practice Certificate
