The Role:

Centre for Youth Health are looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to work in the Youth School Based Health team providing sexual health and contraception services to young people within Counties Manukau. This role focuses on sexual health, including contraception counselling and the provision of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) where appropriate.

In this role you will utilise your advanced sexual health and contraception knowledge and complex nursing judgement to assess health needs, and provide youth-centred care, advice and support. You will also contribute to clinical leadership through the delivery of education, guidance and specialist support to school nurses and other health professionals.

You will have experience working in partnership with Maaori and Pacific young people and their families/whaanau, and demonstrate a sound understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga Maaori and Pacific cultures.

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years recent youth health nursing experience in NZ (post registration)
  • Experience working with Maaori & Pacific communities
  • Post graduate diploma
  • Registered Nurse Prescriber Community Health (or prepared to work towards this)
  • Credentialed Jadelle inserter (or prepared to work towards this)
  • Teaching experience 
  • Full clean driver’s licence
