About the role
The Chronic Pain Service at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau District is seeking a senior registered nurse with experience or a strong interest in chronic pain management to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical expertise within a highly specialised multidisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Doctors with a special interest in pain management.
The Chronic Pain Service is based at our purpose-built outpatient facility at Manukau Health Park and other localities. Our service works with patients living with chronic pain and supports a wide range of complex and challenging conditions. The successful applicant will contribute advanced clinical skills and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care, innovation and excellence.
We welcome applications from registered nurses who possess:
- Registered Nurse with the New Zealand Nursing Council
- Current Annual Practising Certificate
- At least 5 years post-registration experience in a relevant clinical environment
- A commitment to postgraduate education
Ideally you will have the following:
- Experience with patients with chronic pain, chronic/complex conditions or mental health conditions
- Experience practising within a multidisciplinary team
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
- Strong patient and whaanau focus
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders and groups
- Strong initiative and outstanding problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop innovative approaches to a variety of situations
- An understanding of Counties Manukau District processes and values
