About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Audit and Evaluation Leader to join our Mental Health and Addictions (MH&A) team at Middlemore Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will lead and coordinate audit, research, and evaluation activities across MH&A services to support continuous service improvement and informed decision-making.
You will work closely with the Quality and Risk Manager, General Manager, Clinical Director, and Research Committee to develop and deliver an integrated approach to clinical evaluation that is data-driven, culturally responsive, and focused on service quality and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities;
- Lead the planning and coordination of clinical audit and evaluation initiatives across MH&A services.
- Support a structured programme of continuous quality improvement through data analysis and service evaluation.
- Provide expert advice on the design and implementation of audit and evaluation strategies, with a focus on achieving health equity for Māori and Pacific tangata whaiora.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations to inform senior leadership and service planning.
About You
This role requires a confident communicator, with the ability to adapt to different professional groups with ease and a “can do” attitude. The ideal candidates will need to have;
- Bachelor’s degree in social or medical science
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a research, evaluation, or clinical audit role.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
