Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā is seeking an experienced and values driven Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) – Infusion Services to provide professional, clinical, and operational leadership within our Specialty Medicine and Health of Older People service.

This is a pivotal senior nursing leadership role where you will lead a highly skilled multidisciplinary team at Haematology Day Stay and Rongoā Mārie units at North Shore Hospital and Medical Day Stay at Waitākere hospital to drive quality and safety outcomes, and ensure the delivery of equitable, patient centred infusion care for our diverse community. This work will also include our soon to be opened community setting at Whānau Centre in Henderson.

About the role

As the Charge Nurse Manager – Infusion Services, you will be the professional and clinical leader accountable for:

  • Delivering safe, high quality, patient centred infusion services
  • Leading and developing a diverse nursing and support workforce
  • Managing staffing, budgets, resources, and service performance
  • Driving quality improvement, risk management, and innovation
  • Partnering with patients, whānau, and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and improving equity for Māori

You will work in close partnership with the Operations Manager and Clinical Nurse Director, contributing to service development, strategic planning, and organisational priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strong clinical leadershipand operational management of Infusion Services
  • Ensure professional nursing standards, policies, and codes of conduct are upheld
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, rostering, performance development, and staff wellbeing
  • Manage financial and resource accountability within agreed budgets
  • Oversee quality, audit, risk management, and incident review processes
  • Support service planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high performing team culture
  • Champion culturally safe practice and Māori health equity

About you

You are an experienced senior nurse leader who brings credibility, compassion, and strategic thinking to your practice. You thrive in complex environments and are confident leading both people and systems.

You will have:

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Postgraduate qualification in nursing (or equivalent), with leadership/management focus
  • Minimum 5 years post registration experiencein Haematology or Oncology nursing
  • RN Level 4 (Expert) or equivalent with a current portfolio
  • Demonstrated experience in a clinical leadership role
  • Completed relevant eviQ infusion modules
