About the Role:
Our Gynaecology Care Unit provides care for the Waahine of our culturally diverse community. We are committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and providing culturally safe care. Manaakitanga is important to us along with having a workforce reflective of the communities we serve to achieve equitable outcomes for all.
The Gynaecology Care Unit provides care to people with all gynaecological conditions and this includes care of people experiencing early pregnancy loss and abortions.
Key Responsibilities:
We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and dedicated Charge Nurse Manager to lead our Gynaecology Care Unit including Early Pregnancy assessment unit in a fixed term or secondment position. You will need to be adaptable, able to demonstrate strong communication skills, have time management skills, and be waahine and whaanau focussed while also continuing to grow and develop the current team within the ward to provide safe patient and whaanau focused care.
In this dynamic environment as Charge Nurse Manager, you will be required to provide strong clinical and professional leadership to your team. You will have experience at a leadership level, have great interpersonal skills, lots of enthusiasm, be a team player and be very well organised. We are seeking a star performer who thrives on creating innovative solutions consistent with the organisations/service strategies, has a commitment to continuous quality improvement and the energy to strive for a very high standard of patient care that supports best patient outcomes.
Patient centred quality initiatives are driven by the Charge Nurse Manager. You will have a “can do” attitude, with the ability to be flexible, adaptable and meet deadlines.

Essential:
- New Zealand Nursing Registration
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an in-patient nursing environment in NZ
- Completed Postgraduate Diploma with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated expertise in setting standards and managing excellence in practice
- Ability to provide coaching and mentoring
- Proven leadership and staff management experience
- Proven ability to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a health care setting
Desirable:
- Clinical experience in Women's Health
