Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives through expert hearing care? Manukau Health Park is seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our dynamic team and enhance hearing health in our community by performing post-grommet assessments as part of a research project. The project title is: Effectiveness of auditory training after grommet insertion in improving auditory processing skills: a prospective randomised trial.

Our Audiology Department provides high-quality diagnostic and rehabilitative services for both children and adults, with a strong focus on paediatric care. In addition to managing referrals from GPs, Newborn Hearing Screeners, Paediatricians, and Advisers on Deaf Children, our Audiology Service also supports the assessment and diagnosis of hearing loss in patients referred to the Counties Manukau Otorhinolaryngology Service. 

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Conduct post-grommet hearing assessments for patients of all ages
  • Provide expert advice and personalized hearing solutions
  • Work collaboratively with audiologists, ENT specialists and other healthcare professionals
  • Conduct activities/tasks that are specific to the research project as assigned by the Principal Investigator or Audiology Clinical Leader. These may include
    • Identifying eligible children for study recruitment
    • Offering study participation to children and whānau
    • Undertaking informed consent processes with whānau
    • Data management

Essential:

  • Qualified Audiologist with a relevant degree
  • Registration with the New Zealand Audiological Society and hold a current APC (or eligible)
  • Strong diagnostic and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Passion for helping patients achieve better hearing health
