The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with advanced expertise in scar management to join our Acute Allied Health team at Counties Manukau, Middlemore Hospital. This role is ideal for an experienced clinician ready to lead, influence practice, and deliver highly specialised care to patients with complex needs.

As an Advanced Clinician – OT (Scar Management) you will provide expert clinical leadership and highly specialist intervention within the acute and outpatient setting. A significant part of your role will be direct clinical care, alongside mentoring, service development, and quality improvement within your specialty area.

You will:

  • Deliver advanced, evidence-based scar management assessment and intervention
  • Manage complex patient presentations across acute and outaptient services
  • Provide specialist consultation and education to staff, patients and whānau
  • Lead service development, clinical standards, and quality initiatives
  • Support and grow the capability of Occupational Therapy and Allied Health staff

About You

You are an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong clinical credibility and a passion for specialist practice. You enjoy working at an advanced level, leading innovation, and supporting others to deliver excellent care.

Essential:

  • NZ registered OT with a current APC
  • At least 6 years of postgraduate experience in a relevant setting including 3-4 years’ experience in the area of speciality
  • Professional supervision experience including cross discipline supervision
  • Strong clinical reasoning, leadership, and teaching skills
  • A full drivers licence
