Are you a highly experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting the wellbeing of children, young people, and their whaanau? The Taunaki Child & Adolescent Mental Health Team is looking for an Advanced Clinician to provide specialist expertise, clinical leadership, and high-quality care to tamariki, rangatahi, and their families in our community.
About the role
As an Advanced Clinician, you will bring advanced knowledge, clinical skills, and leadership to deliver and guide specialist social work services. You’ll work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive assessments, evidence-based interventions, and care coordination, always with a focus on recovery, resilience, and cultural safety. You will also mentor and support other clinicians, contribute to service development, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Delivering advanced psychosocial assessment and treatment for young people and their whaanau.
- Coordinating care plans and ensuring services are responsive, equitable, and culturally appropriate.
- Providing specialist consultation and clinical leadership within the team.
- Supporting professional development of colleagues through supervision, mentoring, and training.
- Leading and contributing to service improvement, research, and evaluation activities.
- Championing health equity and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice.
About you:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
- At least 6 year’s experience in mental health and addictions, must have children and adolescents experience.
- Advanced clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and care coordination.
- Proven leadership experience, including mentoring, supervision, and service improvement.
- A commitment to culturally safe practice, health equity, and working effectively with Maaori and Pacific communities.
- A full driver’s licence.
