About the Role:
Join our dedicated Respiratory Medicine team at Middlemore Hospital, where you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and respiratory services.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide administrative and secretarial support alongside the Unit Secretary to the Respiratory Department team. Your responsibilities will include a range of secretarial, administrative, and transcription tasks to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager - Respiratory, you will be responsible for prioritising competing demands, managing timeframes effectively, and delivering exceptional customer service to both staff and patients. The role also requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
This is a permanent part-time position working 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Middlemore Hospital. Flexibility is available to work these hours across either 3 or 4 days per week.
About You:
You are a highly organised and adaptable administration professional who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment. You have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous administration experience within the health sector
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in hospital-based medical transcription or secretarial support
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
