Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Mana Awhi is a part of the Community and Long Term Conditions and Adult Medical Directorates which consists of four inpatient wards delivering high quality health care for older people and rehabilitation services for adults aged over 16 years. We provide all age assessment, treatment and rehabilitation following stroke, amputation, other neurological and orthopaedic conditions, multiple trauma and for frail older people.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team in our stimulating and fast paced Ward Clerk position as the face of the Ward and a key support for the Ward leadership team. You will be the first point of contact for Friends and Whanau visiting loved ones in hospital. This role is varied and includes face-to-face customer service, arranging/monitoring patient movements, supply management and general clerical duties.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Have 2 + years clerical experience teamed with previous customer service and/or reception experience.
  • A working knowledge of the MS applications and accurate data entry skills are also essential. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or hospital systems would be an advantage.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, has a positive attitude, excellent communication and great attention to detail. You will be meeting with the public and liaising with staff meaning strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
