Te Whatu Ora-Counties Manukau is seeking an Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgery Fellow (1.0) to join our team as part of the Department of General Surgery. This role is for a fixed term from June 2024 until February 2025 and is based both at Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

This position will provide the opportunity for advanced training and development of surgical assessment and treatment skills in the area of UGI and General Surgery which is essential for the transition from Registrar to Consultant.

Our UGI team is part of a close knit and supportive general surgical department and the wider medical community within Counties Manukau. We service a population with significant challenges by utilising a strong collegial attitude and an active focus on patient centred care. This position will require involvement in multidisciplinary settings in order to provide the best possible care to our patients.

In addition to this, the General Surgery department deals with a wide range of conditions and this may require cross over into other specialities which will provide you with the opportunity to liaise with different teams across the hospital.
