Kainga Tiaki Centre is based in the Eden Terrace, right next to Maungawhau Train Station We are a welcoming, supportive centre with a wealth of collective experience and lots of goodwill.

Kainga Tiaki Centre provides a range of mental health assessment, treatment, and support services to adult residents in central Auckland.

Care & Recovery team provides comprehensive assessment and recovery-oriented treatments for adults grappling with serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders.

Kainga Tiaki Centre is recovery focused and multi- disciplinary in approach. We provide specialist assessment for individuals with an existing or suspected mental illness, with associated risk and/or impairment and offer a broad range of evidence-based support options and/or interventions.

We seek a passionate clinician eager to work in the role of keyworker to embrace the diverse challenges inherent in delivering recovery-focused, integrated services to the Te Toka Tumai Auckland adult community.

As part of our dynamic team, you'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary group of mental health experts, together we aim to ensure the delivery of tailored service outcomes to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to assisting patients in achieving equitable health outcomes.
  • Take ownership of maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate and pertinent records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Efficiently manage caseloads to ensure optimal service delivery.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Possess clinical expertise and a strong focus on patient-centred care.
  • Exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, mental health service providers, government agencies, and community organizations to advance clients’ recovery.
  • Hold a valid practicing Certificate 
  • Possess a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health.
  • Have prior experience working in a Mental Health setting.
  • Demonstrate a dedicated commitment to biculturalism.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

We are currently seeking Registered Mental Health Nurses social workers and occupational therapists with a minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health. Key Workers utilize their knowledge and skills to assess all complex health needs of the service user providing care and advice that supports them to manage their overall healthcare needs. 

The Key worker will hold a caseload, as determined by service need, and will provide active collaboration, coordinate mental health needs, planning and liaison with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), general practitioner (GP) and any other health care providers, including NGOs and inpatient, to enable them to perform their duties to their optimum.

The key worker may practice in a variety of clinical contexts to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options which can occur in a range of community settings this will be done in partnership with the service user, their families/whānau and communities
