Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a passion for empowering people and strong leadership skills to join us as the Service Lead for Mobility Solutions. As a Service Lead, you’ll lead our dedicated team to deliver exceptional services through the Mobility Solutions Service, supporting individuals of all ages with complex wheelchair and seating needs. This permanent, full-time role based at Kahui Marino, Point Chevalier allows you the opportunity to be part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team with strong professional support to enable you to optimise both your profession’s specific practice and a community health focus.

The Mobility Solutions Service is part of Adult Community Services under the Adult Community & Long-Term Conditions Directorate. Our work encompasses a range of allied health and nursing services, including rehabilitation, intermediate care, needs assessments, and district nursing.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to develop their operational and leadership skills whilst also maintaining strong clinical practice. As the ideal candidate for the role, you will also have the following attributes:

  • New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Previous leadership experience in Allied Health advantageous
  • Appropriate supervision training advantageous
  • Able to bring together, balance and deliver the combined demands of quality, operations and business management through outstanding leadership and delegation
  • Effective time management, flexibility, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Motivated: Ready to inspire a team and drive positive outcomes.
  • Experienced: Previous experience in a community health setting is desirable.
  • Skilled: Proficient in operational management, clinical governance and effective communication.
  • Resilient: Flexible, adaptive, and solutions-focused in a dynamic environment.
  • Inspiring and managing a skilled workforce across the greater Auckland region.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient, patient-focused service delivery.
  • Supporting individuals to maximise their independence and achieve their goals.
