Senior Physiotherapist - Acute Neurology
Remuneration as per the PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Physiotherapist with a strong interest in neurology and rehabilitation to join our dedicated team at Counties Manukau.
This role is based at Middlemore Hospital, where you will be primarily working with 3 other Physiotherapists on the acute stroke ward, plus assisting Physiotherapists on our general medical and surgical wards. You will deliver evidence-based practice to inpatients with acute neurological events, including Stroke, Guillain Barre, Vestibular disorders, TBIs, and Parkinson’s disease.
It is based within a team of 12 Physiotherapy staff as part of the medical/acute neuro team within the cardiorespiratory physiotherapy service. There are close links with the AT&R unit (Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation) and Community Stroke rehabilitation team, which provides ongoing rehabilitation to our neurological patients.

Essential:
- NZ Physiotherapy registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience, including at least 8 months in neurology
- Proven experience in clinical teaching and professional supervision
- Strong background in leading quality improvement initiatives
- Full driver’s licence
