Senior Outpatient Dietitian – Acute Allied Health
Part Time 0.9FTE, Permanent
Remuneration as per the PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines
We have a great opportunity for an experienced dietitian to join our close knit and innovative outpatient team, based at Middlemore Hospital. Our team is responsible for the nutritional management of clients and families with chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic kidney disease, obesity or progressing through our bariatric surgery pathway. This role will suit someone who has previous experience working with people with chronic kidney disease and/or diabetes.
The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working in a flexible and challenging environment, has great communication skills, able to think outside the box, efficient in time management, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a strong quality-focussed team. You will also be involved with dietetic student training, coaching and mentoring of new members of the team and expected to participate in service development and project work.
Essential:
- BCapSc or BSc, and Post Grad Dip Diet or MSc Dietetics (or equivalent as recognised by the NZ Dietitians Board).
- NZRD with current annual practicing certificate
- 5 years clinical experience in the relevant area of practice
- An ability to relate and communicate clearly on difficult and complex matters with a range of healthcare professionals, patients, and dietetic colleagues
- Clinical teaching experience
- Cultural awareness and understanding
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
