We're seeking a Senior Service Lead Clinician for a permanent, ideally full-time position. While the role is primarily designed for experienced Senior Medical Officers (SMOs), we welcome applications from all qualified individuals and are flexible regarding hours and location.
As a Service Lead Clinician – HiTH, there is the opportunity to primarily work remotely, however there will be the need for some onsite work. This role isn't limited to SMOs familiar with HiTH models. Whether you specialize in General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Gerontology, or other related fields, if you're seeking a great work-life balance, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Te whiwhinga mai | The Opportunity
Our Hospital in the Home provides acute inpatient equivalent care, utilising highly skilled staff, cutting edge technology and equipment, medication, and safety and quality standards, to deliver hospital-level care within a person's home.
Working closely with patients and their whānau supporting patients to maintain autonomy of their health and wellbeing, including acute care needs in their own home.
Along with providing senior clinical oversight, and leadership of our HiTH multidisciplinary team, you will be key in integrating the acute hospital and acute community service and the ongoing evolution of our HiTH programme as it expands to accepting referrals from a wide range of services i.e., Surgical, Women’s Health, and Adult Medical. You will be providing senior clinical oversight and leadership for the Hospital in the Home multidisciplinary team
This role is a 1.0 FTE and you are expected to work clinically, with an allocation of FTE to undertake leadership and development of the service.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
We are ideally seeking a Service Lead Clinician with:
- Current NZ Medical Council practising certificate – or eligibility to gain one in realistic timeframe
- FRACP or equivalent
- Recent experience of managing complex medical inpatients
- Previous management and/ or leadership experience
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for all
