We are seeking a Senior Allied Health professional (Occupational Therapist) to join our team at Manawanui Unit, based in Point Chevalier.

Manawanui Oranga Hinengaro offers a unique culturally informed approach to care and recovery, working under the guidance of Te Ao Maori (Maori World View) me ona Tikanga (Protocols). 

We provide a range of clinical services and talking therapies for adults with moderate to severe mental illness or psychological distress via multi-disciplinary teams within a kaupapa Maori framework. Our team includes: psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and cultural specialist.

This role provides high quality Occupational Therapist expertise to the wider Manawanui multidisciplinary team. 

Working as a Key worker, the roles provides assessment and support for a caseload of tangata whai-i-te-ora, who require holistic care in order to flourish independently in the community.

Clinical services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team which includes Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social Work.

Te Toka Tumai Auckland has an extensive and supportive occupational therapy mental health network that meets monthly. Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 5 years mental health experience.

You will be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ (with no condition on scope of practice) and hold a current valid APC.

This is an area of work that requires a highly proactive and enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills to meet the challenges and opportunities of the practice setting. The role requires sound occupation-centred philosophy, commitment to teamwork and excellent organisational capability.

The role will also involve mentoring students, so you will also need the ability to lead and mentor.
