Research Officer - Interventional Cardiology

· Location Te Toka Tumai Auckland
Our Cardiac Services are currently recruiting for two part-time Clinical Research Officers in Interventional Cardiology, 1.2 FTE total, to manage trials and projects, including design, initiation, recruitment and follow-up to a standard that meets international best practice, ethics committee requirements and regulatory frameworks.
These are varied and challenging roles where strong communication and organisational skills are essential. In these roles you will manage work to ensure trials are undertaken on time, and within budget specification.
You will:
- Provide guidance and support so study sponsors to ensure their projects meet the regulatory requirements and legal standards for research within New Zealand
- Educate and provide expert guidance to study sponsors and clinical staff to ensure they understand the importance of research in general terms, and specifics of a clinical trial
- Ensure effective service delivery and communication with clinical staff, study participants, their families/whanau and other people who interact with the service
- Manage study budgets and provide overall program reports and updates on individual project

Although many trial co-ordinators have post-graduate nursing training and experience, those from other backgrounds in cardiology or clinical research may apply.
Applicants must have
• At least five year’s work experience in nursing or allied fields with cardiology experience
• Computer skills/Microsoft applications – Word, Excel and Outlook
• Project management experience and research exposure
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
These positions are part-time, and exact hours can be negotiated - allowing the successful applicants to maintain a separate clinical workload should they wish.
