 We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary Early Psychosis Intervention Team (EPIT)

 

 

·         Permanent – Full Time 

·         Salary range per ASMS MECA $170,369 - $250,560 dependable on experience and qualification Step 1- Step 15

·         MCNZ & Immigration Advisor Assistance

 

Working in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland, our innovative team provides specialised assessment and interventions for young adults (<30 years) who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

 

Whilst our EPIT service primarily provides specialist mental health interventions for those with a first episode of psychosis, we also provide early intervention for those presenting with an At-Risk Mental State and provide consultation and liaison for our primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns. 

 

The team has a well-established model of care and employs a multi-disciplinary approach which includes incorporation of AOD, Vocational and Peer-Support specialists within the team.

 

The successful candidate will be based primarily at our Springs Road site in East Tamaki, whilst also providing weekly liaison at Tiaho Mai, Middlemore Hospital, and engaging in community-based assessments in whaiora homes, to ensure engagement and collaborative care planning with family/whanau supports.

Essential:

Experience working in a Community Mental Health setting
Eligible to register or registered in a Vocational scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand (eligibility for registration can be checked via this link https://www.mcnz.org.nz/get-registered/registration-self-assessment-tool/ )
Current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZMC
 

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in early intervention or youth mental health models of care.
  • Experience working with Maaori, Pacific and immigrant populations
