We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre (BRC) as a Programme Coordinator – OT.

BRC is a specialist inpatient service providing recovery focussed rehabilitation for 40 people aged 18-65 years. The majority of clients are under 30 years and all experience serious mental illness with associated high and complex needs. This service is committed to facilitating a therapeutic, recovery oriented environment utilising evidence based practice in response to clients clinical and rehabilitation needs.

In this role, you will work closely and collaboratively with all members of the team, in particular Allied Health staff to coordinate client led group-based and individual programmes as well as provide leadership and guidance to staff in provision of goal focussed, meaningful, purposeful programmes. You will also play an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives, at both service and profession-specific levels.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team with shared commitment to recovery values and be well supported by a strong service-based clinical leadership structure.

This role is full time, permanent working 40 hours per week.

As an ideal candidate, you will be highly proactive and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills to meet the challenges and opportunities of the practice setting

You will be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ (with no condition on scope of practice), hold a current valid APC and have at least 5 years of Mental Health experience. As it is community based, it's essential that you have a full and clean NZ driver's licence.
