Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for you to join our Staff Service Centre team at our Penrose offices in a Permanent, Full-time Payroll Support position.  You will play a vital role in providing support to the Payroll Service including the Call Centre, Mailroom and Filing Room. We provide Payroll service for 20,000 employees across the Northern Region. 

You will play a vital role in:  

·        Ensuring all filing is kept up to date and records are stored in a systematic manner

·        Receiving and processing all incoming calls and emails in a helpful, courteous and professional customer service manner

·        Assigning logged call or enquiry to the relevant SSC team member for action

·        Administrative tasks and requirements, e.g. filing, printing, and general correspondence to a high standard.

·        Receiving and accurately logging, sorting and distributing all incoming mail and faxes in accordance with Mailroom procedures and practices.

·        Maintaining mail distribution bags and distribution labels in accordance with mail system procedures and practices.

·        Maintaining up-to-date courier timetables and additional requirements to meet service needs and maintain links to external mail services

  • Work experience in an office environment 
  • Strong administration skills 
  • Self-motivation
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi,  and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role 
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
