We have an opportunity for a Paediatric Physiotherapist, who can provide premium healthcare to our tamariki & youth. As a paediatric physiotherapist at Starship Hospital, you will thrive within a vibrant, innovative and diverse setting amongst a supportive interdisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietetics, Hospital Play Specialists, Speech Language Therapists and Social Workers. Professionally, you will have many opportunities to develop and specialise in areas covered by the team, as well as receiving on-going support/ mentorship from the highly experienced clinicians you will work amongst

We are committed to delivering whānau-centred care that focuses on the health and wellbeing of children and their whānau. We are looking for a full time Physiotherapist (40 hours a week) with experience and/ or an interest in acute paediatrics and orthopaedics, to join the Allied Health team in Starship. 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide a physiotherapy service to children and adolescents across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide a whānau-centred approach
  • Demonstrate a robust level of contemporary physiotherapy theory and practice to provide effective assessment and interventions, whilst establishing enabling relationships with children and their whānau (family)
  • Remain focused in the pursuit of Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori
  • Demonstrate culturally safe practice that encompasses a diverse range of beliefs, values and practices

  • Regular formal supervision, peer review, collegial support and active participation in education and in-service programmes

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of NZ with a current annual practicing certificate
  • 2+ years of post-graduate clinical work experience
  • Have a passion for improving outcomes for children
  • Experience and/ or interest in acute paediatric orthopaedic care desirable

Salary Range: Step 2 to Step 8 Allied health Scale (Depending on experience)

The remuneration for this position is covered by a collective agreement (PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific Technical MECA)
