Our laboratory operates a 24/7 service across both North Shore Hospital and Waitākere Hospital.
We are looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Microbiology team on a fixed term basis, covering a staff member who is on parental leave with an expected end date of April 2025.
Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of Microbiology with at least 5 years’ experience in a medical laboratory, preferably in a hospital setting. Experience with laboratory documentation, familiarity with ISO 15189:2022 for medical laboratories, and involvement in staff training and competency is an advantage.
You will need to be a team player, well organised and able to manage the demands of competing priorities in a busy hospital laboratory environment.
The applicant must have:
- A current annual practising certificate and current registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council or eligibility to register with the Council.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
