About your new team:

 

Working in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland, our innovative team provides specialised assessment and interventions for young adults (<30 years) who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

 

Whilst the EPIT service primarily provides specialist mental health interventions for those with a first episode of psychosis, we also provide early intervention for those presenting with an At-Risk Mental State and provide consultation and liaison for our primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns. 

 

The team has a well-established model of care and employs a full multi-disciplinary approach which includes incorporation of AOD, Vocational and Peer-Support specialists within the team alongside senior nursing and allied health roles.

 

You will have:

 

·             Comprehensive experience of modern psychiatric practice in a Community Mental Health setting

·             Preferably have knowledge of Early Intervention or Youth Mental Health approaches

·             Passion for working in a collaborative and team-based approach

·             Skills in working with diverse population groups, including Maori, Pacific and refugee populations

·             Eligibility to register in a Vocational Scope with the New Zealand Medical Council (eligibility for registration can be checked via this link Registration-self-assessment-tool)

·             Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate with the New Zealand Medical Council

 

 

In your new role you will:

 

·             Utilise a comprehensive skillset informed by Early Intervention Principles

·             Contribute to the clinical leadership of the team

·             Be based primarily at our Springs Road site in East Tamaki

·             Provide weekly liaison at Tiaho Mai (our award winning acute inpatient unit)

·             Engage in community-based assessments in people’s homes, to ensure engagement and collaborative care planning with family/whanau supports.
