Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prosthodontic Specialist to join our busy Hospital & Specialist Dentistry team in Auckland. We have a permanent, part-time position available.

This role is predominately based at Greenlane Clinical Centre and Middlemore Hospital. However, duties may involve working across multiple sites including at Health New Zealand facilities and those at Counties Manukau and Waitemata.

Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry (HSD) service, is located across multiple sites - Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, Middlemore Hospital, Waitakere Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital and Buckland Road Community Dental Clinic as well as in private provider facilities that are under a lease arrangement.

Prosthodontics is part of Auckland Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry providing hospital-based secondary and tertiary level hospital and specialist oral health services for adults living in the greater Auckland area. As the successful applicant you will be joining our existing established prosthodontic service as part of a wider multidisciplinary team of medical and dental specialists and senior dentists.

The focus of the role is the provision of prosthodontic services/rehabilitation of patients with dental, oral and maxillofacial defects and disabilities in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a teaching hospital you will contribute to the supervision, teaching and support of dental house officers. In addition to clinical audit, there are opportunities for involvement in research.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • As an ideal candidate, you will be a qualified dental professional which is recognised by the New Zealand Dental Council and hold a current registration and Annual Practice Certificate with Dental Council of New Zealand.

You will have:

  • At least 2 years post-graduation clinical experience providing clinical care in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to participate in and contribute to a multidisciplinary team approach to health care provision
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be competent in technical, measuring and computer skills
