    Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

    The High and Complex Needs Service for Mental Health at Te Toka Tumai comprises the Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre (BRC) and the Assertive Community Outreach Service (ACOS), both based in Pt Chevalier. This vacancy is at Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre and you will join a team two experienced Psychiatrists, a full time registrar and a part time GP. As part of this team you will provide some cross cover into ACOS as needed.

     Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre is a 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation service based in Pt Chevalier providing a therapeutic recovery oriented environment open to people residing in the Auckland and Waitemata areas. BRC accepts referrals of people aged 18 to 65 years although the majority of service users are under 30. Many present with the complex challenge of both severe mental illness and co-existing drug and/or alcohol problems and at times aspects cognitive or developmental issues are also discovered.
    Assertive Community Outreach Service is an intensive Community Mental Health Team. The ACOS team works with people who struggle to engage with mental health services and who often have high risk associated with their condition. The team provides responsive treatment to service users who require more flexibility and intensity of support. ACOS covers all of the Te Toka Tumai area.

    This is a permanent position, full time or part time (minimum four days per week) up to a maximum of 40 hours per week based in Pt Chevalier.
