We provide a range of high quality therapeutic programmes with a strong multi-disciplinary focus. Professionally, you will have many opportunities to develop and specialise as well as receiving on-going support/ mentoring from highly experienced clinicians.

The community mental health teams provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic treatment options in collaboration with service users, their families/whānau, and local communities. This is achieved through the assessment and management of the complex health needs of service users, with the provision of effectively planned, episodic care that supports them to manage their overall healthcare needs along with home based treatment options available.

We are located close to the University of Auckland Medical School and there is the chance to become involved in the formal teaching programme and also supervise medical students on placement in our services. It is also possible to supervise and teach Psychiatric Trainees on the Auckland Registrar Training Scheme. Proximity to the University of Auckland can bring the opportunity for research collaboration.

We encourage and support the development of leadership skills in our Consultants Psychiatrists and there will be opportunities to apply for formal leadership positions.
