  • Based in our Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington office
  • Permanent role - 40 hours, full time

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

This role is responsible for our clinical surveillance programme, ensuring referrals for surveillance procedures are actioned in accordance with service guidelines. The incumbent will clinically review and interpret procedure reports and discuss any abnormal procedure reports with the designated clinical staff, updating surveillance recommendations as required. Next generation and other at-risk individuals will be identified and actioned as appropriate.

Given the importance of this role, we are seeking a highly organised individual, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and who thrives when working as part of team. Someone who can demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and bring a professional and positive attitude to all that you do. This is a data heavy role, and you will be comfortable working with data.

You will also:

  • be a registered healthcare professional with a valid annual practising certificate
  • have at least three years relevant gastroenterology experience, Previous work experience within familial gastrointestinal cancer service is desired
  • have at least three years’ experience working directly with patient information

The NZFGCS is a national service and is part of the Te Whatu Ora National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) strategy, providing assessment, diagnosis, management advice and care for those individuals and families who have a familial predisposition to gastrointestinal cancers. The national office is based in Auckland hosted by Te Toka Tumai with other offices in Wellington and Christchurch. In this role, providing specialist assessment, clinical management advice and surveillance recommendations contributes to the overall successful management of patients referred to the service.
