Thousands of young people in New Zealand develop mental illness every year - suddenly finding themselves battling the stigma, fear and trauma associated with the disease. Without active support from experienced mental health professionals like you the outlook for them can be bleak.


At Waitemata District Health Board, the Marinoto West Child & Youth team offers expert support to clients both in rural and urban areas, and we are currently looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist with Child and Youth Mental Health experience.


If you're an experienced, self-motivated mental health professional with a sense of humour and strength of character to make a positive difference to vulnerable young people, we'd like to hear from you.


Requirements for the role:

  • Professional registration in New Zealand
  • Proven experience working with children, youth and their families who have complex mental health issues
  • Experience in using various media and tools to engage and sustain treatment with children, young people and their families
  • A Post Graduate qualification in Child and Youth mental health preferred or recognised training in an evidence based intervention for Child and Youth mental health presentations (e.g. CBT, FBT, DBT, PCIT, MATCH-ADTC, IYP, CoS)
