Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Join the Assertive Community Outreach Service (ACOS), an intensive Community Mental Health Team in the High and Complex Needs Services.

Our team works with people who need support to engage with mental health services and present with high risks associated with their mental health. We aim to provide flexible, collaborative and responsive treatment and support to our Service Users/tangata whaiora. We are a multi-disciplinary and mobile team based in Point Chevalier, Auckland that covers all the Te Toka Tumai area.

We provide comprehensive mental health support with a focus on whanau/family involvement. You will apply your mental health knowledge and skills to undertake thorough psychological assessments, including risk management and provide appropriate and collaborative treatment and support.

As part of our team, you will help to make a real difference to our people's lives, their health outcomes and play a crucial part in their recovery journey. As an ideal candidate for this role, you will demonstrate initiative, enjoy teamwork and have a good knowledge of community resources.

As a Clinical Psychologist within the Assertive Outreach model of service, you will use your specialist skills to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. You will be able to provide psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapy for tangata whaiora with complex problems including psychosis, mood disorders, complex PTSD, personality disorders, and dissociative disorders.

Be part of a team committed to clients who depend upon the support and guidance of skilled professionals to assist them in maintaining and developing a wide range of skills to strengthen their process of recovery.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful for this role, you will be a NZ Registered Clinical Psychologist, holding a current annual practising certificate with a Clinical Scope of Practice or be eligible for registration.

As this is a community-based role, you will also have a full and clean driver license.

You will be motivated and able to work both autonomously within a multidisciplinary team context and be able to demonstrate a clear vision and aptitude for the way a Clinical Psychologist can contribute effectively within this setting.
