We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have exciting opportunities for Clinical Charge Nurse to work rostered shifts with a group of dedicated professionals in our Oncology Inpatient ward. These roles are senior nurse leadership positions based at Auckland City Hospital, Ward 64.

The Oncology Service at Auckland City Hospital is comprised of a 27 bed Inpatient unit, Oncology Day Stay Unit and Outpatient clinics.

This is responsible for the provision of clinical expertise and leadership for the inpatient Oncology ward. We are looking for highly motivated, progressive and innovative nurses who will be able to strengthen the nursing care delivery and work collaboratively within the clinical teams. The team includes Oncologists, Fellows, Registrars, House officers, Charge Nurse, Nurse Specialists, a Nurse Educator, Allied Health and Registered Nurses who are all focused on improving the quality of care and providing a positive experience for patients and their whanau.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • A commitment to biculturalism
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • New Zealand nursing registration, RGON, RN BHSc (Nursing)
  • Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in speciality nursing practice
  • Working Towards completion of Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of five years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • Sound understanding of professional ethics
  • Preferably Chemotherapy Certified
