Allied Health Unit Manager - Hospital & Specialist Dentistry Service (HSD)
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated Allied Health Professional to join the Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland in the newly created leadership role of Allied Health Unit Manager.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s Regional Hospital & Specialist Dentistry (HSD) services, are located across multiple sites - Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre, Middlemore Hospital, Waitakere Hospital and Buckland Road Community Clinic as well as in private provider facilities that are under a lease arrangement.
The Allied Health, Scientific & Technical workforce includes Dental Assistants, Orthodontic Auxiliary, Dental Hygienist, Dental Technicians and Clinical Dental Technicians. There are approximately 30 allied health, scientific & technical staff within the HSD service working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high quality health outcomes for our patients.
The Allied Health Unit Manager (AHUM) will provide operational, professional and strategic leadership to the allied health, scientific & technical workforce with accountability for clinical governance and evidence-based standards of practice. The AHUM will work in partnership with the Service Clinical Director (SCD), Business Manager and Team Leader as an integral part of the leadership team. By monitoring standards of best practice, forecasting patient flow trends and focusing on resource management the AHUM will identify areas of improvement where innovation and ideas can flourish.

As an ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Allied Health Professional who is already working as an Allied Health Lead, Team Leader or other relevant senior Allied Health role with experience working with large teams in a busy and complex environment. You will have a track record of advanced clinical practice, innovative thinking, patient focused care and implementation of system changes.
Applicants will have a track-record of advanced clinical experience delivering care across a range of specialities. It is preferable to have an advanced knowledge of clinical practices in a dental setting. You will have proven leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a sound understanding of financial and change management principles, resourcefulness and a solution focussed approach. You will be highly self-motivated, adaptable and a team player.
